The Nursery Ministry includes two classes which serves babies (birth to 1 year olds) and toddlers (1 to 2 years old) on Sundays at 10:00am, 11:00am and 6:00pm and Wednesdays at 7:00pm to teach children that God loves them and has a wonderful plan for their lives.

About 15 minutes into the Sunday morning worship service (Sundays at 11:00am), children ages 3 to 7 are dismissed to children’s church where they are taught the Bible on an age-appropriate level.

Age-graded children’s ministry programs are offered on Sundays at 6:00pm. 2 year-olds through kindergarten students are learning that the Bible is true and applicable to their lives through interactive lessons. During the summer our 1st-5th grade students are doing a four-week series called “What Does the Bible Say?” which explores what the Bible has to say about how we handle chores, words, siblings and parents then an eight-week series called “Survivors: Survive and Thrive in God’s Kingdom.”

The Gospel Project meets on Wednesdays at 6:30pm for dinner and 7:00pm for class. The Gospel Project is for children ages 2 through 5th grade, and they use the Gospel Project for Kids curriculum which immerses kids and preschoolers in the Gospel through every story, theological concept, and call to mission from Genesis to Revelation. Through the Gospel Project for Kids, kids and preschoolers will understand the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story – God’s story of redemption.

At Tar Heel Baptist Church, we believe that our children’s ministry does not stand alone; instead, it is essential that we partner with the family as we teach children about Jesus and disciple them together.
